Automatic Weapons Co. (Friendswood, TX) MAC 10/45 suppressor - Early 80's build?
I have info on the original Sionics units, but it doesn't exactly match this AWC. The length is different, for one. The tubes on mine are over 5" for the short tube, and 9.5" for the other, longer than specified in this .PDF file covering the Sionics suppressors.
I can't get these tubes apart. I've tried unscrewing them, with a lot of force, and they didn't budge. I have just learned that Loctite will loosen after 5 minutes at 450F, so that will be my next step.
Knurled end cap removed, encapsulator removed...
I assume the snap ring can be removed once the tubes are are apart, and is the stopper for the baffles and spacers. The hex at the bottom looks too thin to be used with a socket to unscrew anything, so I haven't tried that yet..
Oh, the reason for wanting it open is to clean it. The old upper was causing the bullet to shave itself on the 1st stage shown above, and as a result, it has these slivers of jacket trapped in there. They can be shaken out, and I don't want to have one come out during shooting and get in the path of a bullet, so I wanted to open it and remove these...
